IdeaPad S10 laptop from Lenovo hews closely to the basic mini laptop principle started by the Asus Eee PC. The light weight mini laptop has some unique features, but zero that makes this laptop stand out like the new launched mini laptop from HP 2133 Mini high resolution display screen or like the Dell’s Inspiron Mini 9 laptop with unique design.
At 1.3 x 9.9 x 7.1 inches (HWD) and the weight of this mini laptop is 2.7 pounds, the Lenovo IdeaPad S10 falls exactly in the center of netbook region. With the solid looks and accurate fit-and-finish you do wait for from a Lenovo mini laptop. Its good-looking matte white shell very much resembles extra squared off version of the MSI Wind. The 10.2 inches LCD is very bright, with wide viewing angles. It has a 1024 x 768 display mode. The keyboard of the Lenovo mini laptop is a mixed bag. The touch pad is quite small but it is comfortable to use. The dual buttons are very responsive.
The main features of the Lenovo Ideapad S10 are standard mini laptop fare: a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom processor N270 the 802.11g Wi-Fi with Bluetooth connectivity, a 1.3 mega pixel Webcam, 1 GB DDR2 RAM, 160 GB hard disk drive and comes with the Windows XP Home Edition operating system.
The Lenovo S10 mini laptop’s standout feature is its Express Card. The Express Card slot gives much higher speed and it works with internal cards. The Lenovo S10 mini laptop’s base cover can be opened only with two screws for easy access to add extra memory. The mini laptop’s includes 512 MB of memory on the mother board.
A VGA output, Memory card reader, Ethernet, head phone, mic, and a 2 of USB 2.0 ports. The Lenovo S10 mini laptop is integrated with GMA 950 graphics and comes with a 3 cell battery. The battery life is nearly 2 hours and 44 minutes with Wi-Fi. The Lenovo S10 mini laptop includes a 1 year support and comes with the price tag of $439.

ASUS pioneered the low-cost laptop frontier with its Eee PC 701. This trailblazer, now competing against more polished competition such as HP’s Mini-Note, seeks to maintain its lead with the Eee PC 900. This $549 mini-notebook addresses its predecessor’s drawbacks by including a larger, higher-resolution 8.9-inch screen and more storage space.
The new ASUS baby Eee PC 900 Linux-based version, which comes with a 20GB solid state drive, improved 1.3 mp webcam and a touchpad.
Design, Size, and Weight
The ASUS Eee PC 900 is similar to its Eee PC 701 mini laptop, they both laptop look almost the same when putting together. The ASUS Eee PC 900 mini laptop is 0.2 inches longer than its previous version Eee 701 and about 3.2 ounces heavier. However, the mini Laptop is still smaller than most hard cover books.

Port configuration is still the same as on Eee PC 701 on the Eee PC 900 mini Laptop comes with 3 USB ports, headphone, Ethernet and mic jacks, an SD/MMC media reader and the VGA output.
Cramped Keyboard, Expanded Touchpad
The Trackpad is 2.5x1.5 inches and multi touch finger glide capability nearly same as present on the Apple laptops. The new single silver bar on the Laptop that serves as a left button and right button of the mouse.
