Sony VAIO AW Series (VGN-AW180Y/Q)

The Sony VAIO AW Series (VGN-AW180Y/Q) comes with 18.4 inches full HD screen with a broad viewing angles, TV tuner card, and Dolby speakers, Blu-ray.

Design

The Sony VAIO AW Series (VGN-AW180Y/Q) outside is not similar with the inside. In difference to the shiny black top, the inside of the laptop is entirely matte. The palm rest has a fine, rubbery feel that better than it looks.

The touchpad of the Laptop is smooth and has a black checkered pattern. The touch buttons of the laptop, while concrete, are little bit noisy and some where small.

Like other SONY VAIO laptops, the new SONY AW has flat and separated keys with the full number pad on the right side of the Laptop.

Two programmable key and touch sensitive controls just above the keyboard, and above the keys speaker and finger print reader.

Multimedia Experience

The Sony VAIO has 18.4 inches full HD screen is LED backlit with proprietary Xbrite technology.

Sony launched the world’s smallest laptop with an integrated Blue-ray technology with dual solid state drives and long battery life.

Sony looks to fulfill your dreams with its high end Laptop by packing a Intel Centrino 2 processor, recordable Blue-ray, an 256GB of solid state drive and mobile broad band into a attractive and ultra portable mini laptop. Priced at $4,344, the new Sony VAIO VGN-TT198UBX mini laptop is the extreme machine from cheap, the cost of laptop is nearly of Acer Aspire ones with 11.1 inchs display and HDTV technology.

Design

At first look, the new Sony VAIO VGN-TT198UBX 2.8-pound TT could beat the all other mini-laptops due to its compact size 11.0×7.9×0.9 inch. It is carbon fiber black chassis and also available in Champagne Gold and Crimson Red. The other Sony VAIO laptops, the TT features flat, Mac Book like keyboard and offer enough room for comfortable typing. A touchpad is just below the keyboard, two mouse buttons, and a finger print reader. Front bezel volume keys as well as a user definable short cut key.

The new Sony laptop contain 2 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI, FireWire, VGA, Ethernet Jack, Head phone, mic, SD Card slot and Two-in-One memory card reader and a Express Card/34 slot.

Screen and Webcam

Sony is the only one launched the Blu-ray drive in a Laptop with an 11.1 inch and 1366 x 768 screen. Audio is clear and loud. Laptop is integrated 1.3 mega pixel Motion Eye camera.

Sony recall 73000 Laptop

Good news for the Sony’s competitors, Sony is recalling nearly 73,000 Sony Vaio TZ laptops because of a manufacturing defect that cause the laptop to overheat.

The problem is with wiring of the laptop near the laptop’s center, which could cause short circuit due to over heating in some circumstances.

The affected models of the Sony Vaio series are the VGN TZ 100, VGN TZ 200, VGN TZ 300 and VGN TZ 2000 , even though not all Sony Vaio laptops in these series are affected. Sony suggests its laptop users to contact the Sony to see whether their laptop are defected, and if so then stop using the laptop immediately.

The over heating of the laptop could be caused due to misplaced of wiring which are present near the hinge.

In year 2006, Sony recalled millions of batteries because they presented a fire hazard, causing many laptops to burst.

In May this year, Dell also recalled nearly 1 million laptops because of a risk of shot circuit which may cause fire or electric shock.
